Survey says...

A few days ago, Meri/MusicChick tagged me to do an iTunes survey thingy (technical terminology), and it looked like fun so here is my attempt.

The rules: put your iPod/iTunes on shuffle and for each question, press the next button to get your answer.

Most of my results were kind of lame and/or didn't make sense, but these are the highlights/lowlights:

WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?

"99 Problems" by Jay-Z

I don't think my personality has that many problems, but at least a bitch ain't one.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?

"Buddy Holly" by Weezer

I can't resist a guy with Buddy Holly glasses ;)

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?

"Your Hands Are Cold" by Jean-Ives Thibaudet from the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack

It has been pretty chilly out lately, but I wear my mittens. I hope you do too.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?

"Domo Origato Mr. Roboto" by Polysics

hahahaha I don't know what else to say :P

WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?

"Somewhere I Belong" by Linkin Park

I really hope not!

HOW WILL YOU DIE?

"Fake It" by Seether

hahaha I wonder how I'll pull that off?

WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH?

"Hymn to the Fallen" by John Williams from the soundtrack to Saving Private Ryan

definitely not. it has made me cry a little though.

WHAT MAKES YOU CRY?

"Grease" by Frankie Valley from the Grease soundtrack

This on the other hand made me laugh. Maybe I would cry if I got grease in my eye (oooo that rhymes!)

DOES ANYONE LIKE YOU?

"Prince Ali" by Robin Williams from the Aladdin soundtrack

Prince Ali! Handsome is he, Ali Ababwa! That physique! How can I speak? I'm weak at the knee. But what happened to Princess Jasmine?

I didn't realize how many random soundtracks I had until now. Please don't judge my taste in music by the results of this survey.

Monkey Wrench

Okay, so I had written a huge post chronicling the epic events of last Friday, but I somehow managed to lose the entire post. Don't ask me how I did it because I have no clue. Here's an abbreviated version of what transpired:

I went on a mini-roadtrip to Concord con mi madre in the morning and exchanged an ugly $20 Christmas sweater for 2 Rachael Ray fajita pans that were on sale (normally they'd be $40 each). I can't wait to use mine (it's orange!).

We got back from Concord just in time for Meri and I to go to Providence Place Mall where (1) Meri bought David Tennant, (2) we saw The Day the Earth Stood Still in IMAX and (3) Meri lost and found her phone. Thus it was an awesome/epic day.

Since I haven't posted much to this blog at all, I'll ramble on a little more ...

Today I went to Barnes and Noble (because I haven't been there/spent enough $$$ there this vacation yet) and bought The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie (yes, the Hugh Laurie from House, which I have become a huge fan of recently...the show is more addicting than Vicodin) . I saw it was one of the staff picks in the mystery section (my favorite). It's a spoof of the spy thriller genre, and it's supposed to be pretty good. I'm excited to read it, once I've finished the other 700 books on my list to read (and no, I still haven't finished Breaking Dawn).

It's also worth mentioning that today was an amazing day for listening to the radio. I got sick of my playlists on iTunes, so I dusted off my old boom box and flipped the radio on. A bunch of my favorite songs were played in succession on one station, and even after that I didn't change the station very often due to songs I wasn't in the mood to listen to. I'm usually such a compulsive station flipper. I think I'll turn the radio back on now and finish cleaning my room.

Books, books, and more books to read

So yesterday I went shopping with my mom and ended up spending a ridiculous amount of time in Barnes and Noble. It reminded me of how many books that I want to read or re-read. I'm currently trying to finish "Breaking Dawn" by Stephenie Meyer, but I'm struggling to make it through the last half of the book. Here's a list of the books I've got lined up to read after I finish it:

"Fahrenheit 451" - Ray Bradbury
"The 39 Steps" - John Buchan
"The Complete Sherlock Holmes" - Arthur Conan Doyle
"I Capture the Castle" - Dodie Smith
"The After House" - Mary Roberts Rinehart
"Robinson Crusoe" - Daniel Defoe
"And Then There Were None" - Agatha Christie

And so it all begins

I'm not really sure of my true motives for starting a blog. I guess part of me wants an outlet for purging the random brain thoughts that seem to clog my mind on a daily basis, and I'm curious to see if I'll actually maintain this thing. I've never been a consistent journal keeper/diary writer, so I guess it's partly a challenge to myself as well. All motives aside, I think it'll be an interesting and insightful experience to see my thoughts in writing, though I think I'll struggle to let my thoughts flow freely from my mind to the page.
